"Exciting news Fanatics! As always The Figure Workshop is trying to find new ways to take care of their clients and offer you new services. Well, as a nail technician herselff for over 10 years. Working as a top acrylic technician at A Touch of Polish in Scarsdale, New York, Janet found an amazing service that her herself is able to offer for you all and book through The Figure Workshop!! You won’t believe this one.
Years ago, Janet had to retire the added nail services as an acrylic technician due to her debilitating migraines she suffered over the years and the horrible smells caused by usage from the acrylic products, but recently now have discovered an amazing way for her clients to have their nails polished without any harmful chemicals smells and get this… the polish color will last for TWO WEEKS!!!! Yes, that’s right, TWO WEEKS!!!
Keep in mind, this is not to extend or repair your nails but if you do have artificial nails, natural nails you can have your nails polished this way and it will last for the full two weeks. What better way to have your nails done before a competition, a wedding, a formal function or just for your day to day life without the worry of chipping, nicking or “dinging” your manicure. And yes, we can do the French manicure as well.
The system is called Shellac and the polish itself is called “CND”. Randomly this was mentioned to a few Figure Workshop clients and now they too are loving this service!!! We are now finally able to share our new added service with you. too.

Shellac™ truly is a hybrid of traditional nail polish and UV gel polish. Unlike soak-off gels it comes in a polish bottle and unlike traditional polish it cures/dries under a UV lamp. Though what we really liked is there is NO BUFFING. There is absolutely no damage to the natural nail in the process. So how does it work?
Shellac paints on like polish – base coat, color, top coat – and is cured in a UV light so there is zero dry time. The colors are hypo-allergenic, and “3-Free” – no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP. Shellac will launch in a range of 12 varieties of shades, from pretty French pinks and whites, to siren red and rich darks. The formula is thin and flexible like polish, so it not only looks natural, it provides strong natural nail protection with a resilient mirror finish that resists dullness and chipping, even during the most rigorous activities.
Just like your average manicure, we apply a base coat, two coats of polish and a top coat. The only difference is you place your hands under a UV lamp in between coats. The polish dries completely in only two minutes. And because it’s so pigmented and applies like a traditional polish you’re not left with thick nails from coat after coat of gel.
You will leave with a perfectly glossy, smudge and dent-free manicure in a fan fave from the old CND collection, Fedora. The initial set of shades will include top sellers from the old core line.

The removal is only 10 minutes but must be done by me after two weeks and can be just a simple polish change at a lesser cost and there is no damage to your natural nail. If you have acrylic nails you can come to Janet for your polish and there is a nominal fee for this. After just 10 minutes using the Shellac Remover Wraps the majority broke right off in pieces and what remained was easily pushed off with an orange wood stick.
As amazing as Shellac is on, removal is just as satisfying! No soaking, drilling or filing is necessary. Nails are wrapped in individual Shellac Remover Wraps -integrated cotton pads that limit finger and skin exposure to acetone by keeping it pinpointed on just the nail. Ten minutes of time in exchange for two weeks of perfect color is all it takes. Say good-bye to manicure frustration and hello to pure manicure satisfaction.
Day 14 with the exception of your natural nail growth and extremely minimal tip wear, the finish is as glossy and perfect as Day 1. Like you wouldn't’t know and you don’t need to get your nails done unless you held my free edge up to your face. There are no scratches, no nicks, no wrinkling from your nails bending. The flexibility and shine really do hold up.
So we know you die hards are saying the only way you’ll go to a salon is kicking and screaming. That you love the concept but would rather do it at home. That you’ll never give up your hundreds (or thousands) of color choices. Hey, we hear ya! But for all those women who left the salon because their manicures chipped in a few days, Shellac will wow you. Current salon clients will rejoice to reduce their appointments to once every two weeks. But you don’t have to go to a salon! You come to me. No salons here!!

Janet herselff has it done and literally loves it. Of course she has to have to have it done because loving the french manicure it is very difficult performing this on the opposite hand. But this does literally last TWO WEEKS WITHOUT SMUDGING OR CHIPPING!!!! Due to the fact that Janet was a master acrylic nail technician way before she even touched a free weight, believe us she has the skills and the know how for this service. We've just been waiting for this service to be tested and mastered. The good news is, you can have this done days before your competition, wedding, formal function, prom, or any other event because you will not have to have it touched up or done over for two weeks afterwards. And there is absolutely no drying time so you can go shopping, put your hand in your bag for your keys immediately afterwards!!! Plus, going to Janet for this service will save you $$$$ than going to a salon. The charge at a salon runs anywhere between $45-$60, including the manicure. You will NOT pay that with Janet.
